What has changed in BT

I have noticed a significant change in Vista's Bluetooth compared to that of
XP. XP used widcomm BT, I haven't searched for what Vista uses yet but what
I've seen is that it has much less functionality and it is not as stable. Is
there any addon to BT that can improve it and provide more functionality?

XP does not use WidComm BT as far as I know - Widcomm has a separate BT
stack to the MS Bluetooth stack.
