What happened to my side bar?

When I first got my computer, it had a really nice side bar, with hundreds of
different things to add on. But after a couple of weeks, my computer shut
down unexpectadly once and the side bar disappeared and was replaced by a
much simpler one. I don't know what happened to my old one, but I really want
it back. Does anyone know what happened, and is there some way for me to get
it back?

Thanks,

Click Start > type "Windows Sidebar Properties" > check "Start Windows
Sidebar when Windows Starts" > click OK.

You can change the Sidebars Appearance by opening the Windows Sidebar
Properties. Open Control Panel and you will find it there or Search for
Windows Sidebar on the Vista Start Menu search box. Click the Plus sign at
the top of the Sidebar to add Gadgets.

It's not just that it looks different though. It's a totally different side
bar I have now, with only one page of gadgets. The other one had over 50
pages of stuff. I don't know how I got the other one, I have two friends with
Vista and they both have the simple one I now have and they were surprised at
what mine looked like. I really have no idea what happened.

Hmm, sounds like a third party solution, not the actual built in Windows
Vista Sidebar. You sure its not Konfabulator from Yahoo?
