I'm trying to duplicate obejcts like drawings, not duplicate slides. I can't
believe that this functionality has been removed, causing users to use two ro
three keystorkes -- copy and paste -- rather than "duplicate."

Which version are you using? In XP and 2003 it's still Ctrl+D or in the Edit
menu.......TD

John,
Forgot to mention the steps, Home - Clipboard group - Paste button -
Duplicate, or just press ctrl+D.

Removed from which version? It's there through 2003. 2007? Who knows, it's
probably somewhere on the new intuitive ribbon bar but ... ah well. Let's not
go there.

But Ctrl+D still duplicates shapes as does Ctrl+Drag

Hang on, let's DO go there. 2007, on the Home tab, click the arrow beneath
Paste and there's your Duplicate command.
