What format should a product list take in excel?

I'm trying to create a product list in excel using the following format
<Product Name>, <Description>, <Unit Price>, <Quantity>. , putting all the
abvoe in one column ( A). This didn't work so, I put the different headings
in seperate columns, i.e. <Product Name>, in column A, <Description>, in
column B etc. This again failed. For both formats I saved the worbook as a
..csv file before importing. When I import the list I'm told that the import
has been successful but, I cant see the product list in the master product
list box. What am I doing wrong and can someone give me an example of the
correct format for excel?

I would recommend working on the CSV file directly with notepad, rather
than using Excel.
Excel does extra work to parse CSV and may hides some errors in the
file.

The following CSV should import correctly:

ProductName,ProductDescription,ProductPrice,ProductQty
MyProductName,MyProductDescription,1.0,1
