What does it mean when an e-mail says "1 of 2"?

My boss thinks that someone is "auto forwarding" mail messages. He saw an
e-mail that said "1 of 2" I figure that means someone is sending two e-mails.
Buthe doesn't believe me. Any other thoughts?

Is this message coming up when he sends? The message says sending 1 of 2? Is
this a POP3 account? Then yes, it does mean he's sending 1 of 2 messages.
Likely one is inivisible because it's a read receipt. If his outgoing mail
always says it's sending more than he can see, the read receipt is probably
stuck:

If he can see the email messages, then perhaps one is stuck:

If it's neither of these, please respond back with a more specific

While in general you're correct, if he's using Outlook 2007 and has two
accounts, it could be a fault that causes Outlook to display too many
messages. He may actually be sending only one.
