what does API stand for ?

iam working with a copy of Stephen Lebans A2000SnapShotToPDFver785 PDF
converter
in the Module "Modreporttopdf" he makes reference to API and API'S what does
API stand for ??????????
 
API = Alaskan Pain Institute. Though I imagine that Mr. Lebans is referring
to the Application Programming Interface
 
allrighty then see i learn sumpin new every day i didnt know Alaska had a
pain instute but thank you guys for the right answer i knew all aling what it
was ,,see i was just testing yall ,,yall did good and thanks

I wonder if the purpose of the institute is treating, measuring, or
inflicting pain?
