What does Analyze with Excel actually do?

I'm trying to figure out what the Analyze It with Microsoft Excel option
(under Tools, Office Links), actually does other than open a copy of the
datasheet in Excel. Is it linked in any way back to the Access database? I
see that it saves a copy of the table as an Excel workbook, but does it do
anything other than that?

Thanks,
Dino

It is the OutputTo method as a menu object. You are correct, it doesn't do
anything more than save a datasheet as an Excel spreadsheet.
