What causes my grid settings to be reset?

In Word 2007 on WinXP, my grid settings (found by selecting your drawing
canvas, then clicking into the "Format" tab, then selecting "Grid Settings"
from the Align drop-down menu) keep getting reset randomly... I think it
happens when I add a page or edit my header / footer but I'm not sure...

Any idea why this is happening? Any suggestions on how to stop it?

If you modified the settings for spacing, and you want to save these settings
for later use, you must click the Default button; this transfers the settings
to the attached template. (If you haven't explicitly chosen a different
template, the attached template will be normal.dotm.)
