How can I find out which of several recent changes has caused my database to
go slow and display the "Calculating..." message in the status bar. This has
happenned in the past and I have generally gone back to a recent archive but
this time, I have made a number of minor changes which didn't get logged and
I would just as soon not go back.

It sounds like you will have to invest the time one way or the other. If
you don't "go back" to the last known good version and roll forward again,
you will spend the time diagnosing/fixing what you have now.

I believe Access displays the "calculating..." when it is trying to access a
table (i.e., via a query). Any of those recent changes made to a query?

Even if you went back, you could import changed pieces one-by-one and test
after each. This would be faster than rebuilding all the changes. Or are
you saying you don't have ANY record of what was changed? Are we talking
about a day's work or a week's full-time work?

If you have more money than time, check out one of the comparison tools --
the folks at FMS, Inc. and at Black Moshannon have software tools you can
use ... (and there are lower cost/?free tools too).

Thanks,
I've gone back. Unfortunately, none of the changes I made were significant,
so I don't log them. Just bits and pieces of tidying up; will cost me a few
hours but it could be worse. Thanks for the reply.
