What are the Window Hosts Files?

Am wondering. Are the IP addresses that are found in the
host files addresses that have been accessed on that
computer before? Is there anyway to input those yourself?

Thank you

Hi

Yes you can input them yourself if you have installed som hosts
protection program but your entries are probably spyware.
If you are running MSAS I suggest you to clean
your hosts file and let MSAS protect it.

To clarify a bit--the IP addresses found in the hosts file are not put there
automatically--so this is not a list of ip addresses that the computer has
visited. This file can be empty except for a single entry 127.0.0.1
localhost and work perfectly well.
