What are *.ion files?

I have oodlies of descript.ion files aboard,
from Googling I suspect loaded by ACDSee
Am I able to get rid of these 0byte files?

Read this http://filext.com/file-extension/ION .This article says .ION
files are like readme.txt files ,I think deleting those wont impact your
system ability to perform well.

Ah I see now, didn't know that was a link for the error message. I guess
download again and try it, could be a bad download. I'd also shutdown
everything you can in the Systray before installing.

Yes, I agree,
however
they are like the good old Australian bush fly,
they do no harm, but are bloody annoying,
they are everywhere!
