what am i doing wrong?

I am new to windows 2000 server and am trying to set up a
new user group with roaming profiles and a group policy.

I can create the user group, add users to it, but i
cannot seem to get the roaming profiles working, or the
group policy.

Are there any step by step guides to doing this as the
documentation does not go into too much detail. Its very
important that i get this sorted out. Any help would be
greatly appreciated

Tx in advance

The roaming profiles is very simple:

From the Users and Computers MMC
Double click on the users account
Click on the Profile tab
enter the profile path: \\servername\shareddir\%username%

Make sure that the Servername is the name of a server that
allows users to connect it across the network. Make sure
ther Shareddir is a directory on the server that has given
the users full control of the share. %username% is a
variable that will change to the users logon as soon as
they logon for the first time. The act of the user
logging on will create a directory in the shareddir
directory.

Sorry, probly wasn't too clear.

Already added the share path, exactly as shown, to the
profile, but the account still uses the local settings
and not the profile path. Thats why I don't know what im
doing wrong.
