There's a large file named WFV39.tmp (51 MB) in my Windows\Temp folder
which I can't delete. The system says it's being used by another person or
program.
Does anyone know what it's for and how to get rid of it?

David-

I tried your suggestion, but it seems to work for EXE files, not for TMP
files.

Same thing. Still can't delete.
Is there some way to delete all temporary files in the Windows\Temp folder?

From the toolbar, choose; find
and provide it the TMP file
It will show what process is using it.

Ah, now I see! It answered this question and also gave me info about a bunch
of other trash files. Thank you!

Windows won't allow you to delete anything needed during the current boot,
Bobbi. What did Process Explorer tell you?

Hi, PA Bear-

It told me the file is used by my AntiVirus program, so clearly I can't
delete it while the AV is running. It also answered the question of what's
generating some of the hundreds of other files in my Windows\Temp folder-
files which aren't getting deleted when they're not longer used. I'm glad
David clued me in to that tool.
