Western Digital RMA service in Europe: WTF?

Hi all:

About a month ago I sent my Western Digital WD1200 drive back
for a RMA, since the diagnostic utility was saying that a failure was
inminent. WD received the drive on Nov. 17, according to their
website, but still hasn't sent back a replacement as of today (Dec.
15), nor a schedule for when it will be ready. They have a message in
their site talking about how they have recently moved their european
support center, which may cause "a small delay in operations", blah,
blah... but ONE MONTH? I have talked with their european tech support
in Amsterdam (that's for another rant: making international phone
calls to talk with support), and they say that it's a problem with
their new service center and that they can't do anything about it,
since they aren't physically in the same location.
Is this happening to anyone else in Europe? If anyone else has
had to RMA their drive recently, how was your experience? And how
longer can I expect to wait?

I did three advanced RMAs for 250GB 8MB WD drives on December 4th.

I got an email on December 15th saying there was a delay in shipping
with no indication on when it would be shipped.

I called just after the new year, no idea when the replacements would
be shipped, they hoped soon.

I just called today (January 25th, 50 days since the RMA was issued),
they have no idea when replacements will be shipped.

What is the point of a warranty if they don't honor the warranty in a
timely manor? I've already had to buy replacements for the failed
drives. I hope Seagate is better, I've switched to them (5 year
warranty, and they make 300GB and 400GB drives).
