Welcome Screen

This is a minor annoyance but nevertheless an annoyance.
When I have AntiSpyware running in the systemtray (just
running in the background like always) it comes up on the
Windows XP Welcome Screen as a program that is running.
All of my other programs in the tray aren't displayed,
only that one.

Confusion :-s or you talking about Microsoft AntiSpyware or the Windows
operating system.

I'm talking about the Windows XP Welcome Screen.
Whenever I have a program loaded but it is hidden in the
system tray it doesn't list itself as running in the
Welcome Screen, e.g. Outlook, Windows Messenger, etc.

Microsoft AntiSpyware, on the other hand, lists itself as
a running program on the Windows XP Welcome screen even
when I have it hidden in the system tray.

First of all, programs do not run on the Windows XP Welcome screen, but they
do display little notifications in the system tray, notifying the user
whether they are active or not. In some cases, programs display extensions
in the notification area when they are open, examples include Outlook
Express or Office Outlook.

If you have a password to log on to windows, you get a
welcome screen where you enter that password. When you
log off the computer, windows automatically returns to
the welcome screen. Underneath the password box it tells
you how many programs are running and also tells you how
many unread emails you have.
And for Johnathan, sorry, but I know of no way to turn
thid option off.

I understand Jonathan's complaint.

About all I can say is that this is how this beta product works. I wouldn't
be surprised to see this change in a later release, though--but saying that
doesn't cut much until we actually see such a release.
