Weird Shortcut Problem

Hello:

Just installed XP Pro and in the process of setting up the desktop attempted
to make shortcuts for the CD-ROM and the CD Burner. I made the shortcuts in
My Computer and as usual, it wanted to put the shortcuts on the desktop
which it did. However, when I attempt to use these shortcuts, I get a
"Missing Shortcut" box with the little flashlight looking lfor the next best
option. This does not occur on any of the other drives in My Computer. Any
ideas? Any input is welcome.

Pete,
RIGHT click the shortcut you made and select PROPERTIES
and when you get that properties window open, note the pathway
to the device you want to open... Whether or not it looks right,
click on the FIND TARGET button and let windows try to find it..
If it does in fact find it, it will fix the shortcut.
