Weird "From:" Address

C

Chris

I'm using Outlook 2000 SP-3 on a computer with XP home edition and one
with Windows 98.

Suddenly, all of our email is being received from the general email
address on our web server on behalf of whoever actually sent it.

For example, if (e-mail address removed) sent me an email, it would come in from
"(e-mail address removed) on behalf of (e-mail address removed)". I tried
sending email to another account, and nothing odd is appearing on
email sent out. This is happening with email addresses both inside
and outside our domain.

I've checked all of the client side and server side settings, and
there isn't anything I can find that would explain this...I'm a pretty
novice-level user, so I didn't try anything deep.

This problem doesn't really affect functionality, but it's really
annoying and I'm concerned about what might be causing it.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thanks,
Chris

Do you have any kind of forwarding or auto reply set up on
the server? If the server is intercepting mail and
forwarding it on, this could cause that type of message

We do, but this whole weird "from:" address is affecting accounts that
don't have the forwarder on it. Also, we've had the forwarders on for
a while, and this weird behavior only started today.

Thanks for the thought! If you have other ideas, please let me know!!
