Weird Chkdsk message

I am getting this message along with a
Truncating badly linked attribute records from file
segment 25647
message
I have tried running chkdsk with switches such as /f to
not avail it keeps quittin with an unspecified error and
runs each time on startup
the HD has checked out fine
where to start now??

Download tools from your hard disk manufacturer`s site and check your disk.
Problem may even be faulty ram causing errors.
If it is a bug, I suggest a full data erase then clean install.
Some beasties cannot be removed any other way.

Have solved some problems by pulling out power plug then remove motherboard
battery for one minute.
Refit then reset bios.
Reason: Invisible power line anomalies do all sorts of interesting things to
computers and to the installed data.
