Weekly and Monthly views

My office has recently converted from Meeting Maker to Outlook for
calendaring, and we feel like we've actually lost some functionality as a
result.

Our old calendaring system allowed us to advance the weekly view day by day,
instead of only by a whole week.

Likewise, the monthly view allowed us to advance week by week instead of
only by an entire month.

Seriously - I don't need to see stuff that's past. I need to see what's
happening today and in the next several days without having to shuttle back
and forth between weekly views.

Truly horrible shortcoming of Outlook. I suggest you make fixing this a
priority.

how are you advancing? If you use the keyboard arrows you can move ahead by
days or weeks. Use the day view and select 5 days - then use the left and
right arrow to move. In the month view, use the up and down arrow.

Using the up and down arrows as you suggested works for the month view - it
seems to be advancing one week at a time. So that solves one problem.

Using the left and right arrows doesn't resolve my 'weekly view' problem,
though. This advances the cursor position. What I need is the ability to
advance the view itself one day at a time, so that I'm looking at any
consecutive seven day period I want. For example, if today is Wednesday,
then I want it to show me Wed-Thur-Fri-Mon-Tue in the 5-day view. The only
way to accomplish this seems to be going into the settings to change the
first day to be shown as the start of the weekly view. Which might not sound
so bad on the surface, but there are often times when I need to be able to
scroll forward through the week and into the next by a few days without it
jumping to the next full week.

use the day view and select 3 or 5 days in the calendar.
kinda like shown here:

and only select 3 -5 days.

Okay - not as easy as are old system and certainly not intuitive, but I think
that will work. Thanks!
