Website site won't load completely

I have a desktop and laptop on a wireless DSL modem and both are working
fine. The strange problem I have is that when I go to a paticular
website(CNN.Com) using the desktop I get a message on the status bar
that says it is done but with an error on the page and the page has not
fully loaded. However, when I use the laptop and do the same thing it
works fine. Have spent days comparing settings between the two since
both are running Windows Home XP SP2 and IE 6.0. Have run Spyware,
Adware, Antivirus,Regchecker and cleaned browser and cookies with no
success. Even did a restore on the desktop to a known good date. MS
had no solutions either. Would appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks

Do the desktop and laptop have identical anti-malware tools installed?
If not, then the firewall or antispyware on the desktop may be
blocking some content on the site in question. If the anti=malware
programs are identical on the two machines, are their settings
identical?

Check the DNS and MTU setups on the problem computer - either DNS or MTU
problems can cause your symptoms.

Thanks for the help but everything checked out ok. Finally solved the
problem by downloading a registry cleaner program called RegCure and it
took care of the problem. I'm not promoting that product but it was top
rated and it sure did a job for me. Can't really say what the problem
was but it appears to have been in the registry. Thanks and good luck
to all.
