Accessmonster, the Microsoft support pages, and many others are actually NOT
the forums. They are web based newsreaders which (with varying degrees of
success) connect to the "Usenet Newsgroups", text-based discussion forums
which existed long before the World Wide Web.
You can use a Newsreader program such as Outlook Express (or Windows Mail if
you have Vista) to connect to the newsserver msnews.microsoft.com. There you
will find thousands of newsgroups on Microsoft software. Your internet service
provider (or various paid or free news servers) will give you access to tens
of thousands more newsgroups on every conceivable subject (and some
inconceivable ones). Most of the MVP's and other volunteers use such
newsreader software rather than the web interfaces.
