Any easy way to uninstall Webshots software once installed? Someone
downloaded it on an office computer (Win XP Professional) and it's slowing
dowsn the works. If no easy uninstall, how do we at least deactivate from
starting up when XP loads? Thx

Jim, it should be in the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall
from there. Also, go to Start>Run
type: msconfig select Startup and uncheck any entry referring to
Webshots. You may have Gator installed also. Webshots use to package itself
with it. Adaware could probably find and get rid of it.

there is an uninstall for webshots
START>CONTROL PANEL>ADD and REMOVE programs
if you dont find an entry post here again.....

If you just want to disable it then:
START> RUN write MSCONFIG and press ENTER

then on the STARUP tab find webshots and takeout the checkmark press ok

Next time you restart you will see a message, tell it to not show it again.

Thanks, I will try both. However, I thought in XP it's not safe to uncheck
startups in msconfig, unlike in Win 98?

Ken, Thanks for your post. I, as a new user of XP, tried early on to use
msconfig and it produced results I didn't expect, including bringing up the
configuration screen on subsequent reboots. Because I didn't know what I
had possibly screwed up, I did a system restore. Is there a specific way to
do this safely, both on XP Home and XP Pro. (Also, does XP Pro have the
same type of System Restore as Home, and is it safe to use that to counter
the effects of the WebsShots install?)
