i have a nasty virus/spyware on my computer. im not sure
which one it is, most likely its a spyware that has changed
my registery. every time i click on internet explorer my
home page is changed from http://www.msn.com to
res://lwwrs.dll/index.html#96676

norton and spybot with latest updates to not list this.
adaware does show it, every time i delete it, it pops back
up soon as i click internet explorer. adware is seeing this
problem, but unable to properly solve it.

i am unbable to surf. i am taken to the above listed site and
recieve numerous pop-ups. I have tried listing it as a
restricted site in internet properites with no luck. any
help is greatly appreciated.

First. Make sure of these settings and nothing will install without you
answering YES. (Except what may install as part of some other software.)

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options | Advanced tab |
Make sure both of these are NOT checked.

Enable Install On Demand (Internet Explorer)
[[Specifies to automatically download and install Internet Explorer
components if a Web page needs them in order to display the page properly or
perform a particular task.]]

 Enable Install On Demand (Other)
[[Specifies to automatically download and install Web components if a Web
page needs them in order to display the page properly or perform a
particular task.]]

Apply | OK

Third.
It is known as Scumware. Visit these sites. 1, 2, 3 and 4 are really good.
Download, install, run, *update* and run again; one or all. They are all
good, FREE utilities. Make sure you update *every* program, even if you
just downloaded it. You *must* have the latest updates.

1) CWShredder direct download:

2) SpywareBlaster
[[SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from
ever being installed.
The most important step you can take is to secure your system. And
SpywareBlaster is the most

powerful protection program available.]]

I had this problem, I've tried every thing you have tried to no avail, I finally went to system restore to a prior date. my home page was back to normal, I then went back to spynuker and deleted the dectection. My page has not changed back since. Now i get prompted when someone is attempting to cookie me. Also, everytime I run spynuke, It has the same amount of detection-such as web page hijacker this amount to 10 sites trying to estabhish spyware on my computer. hope this works for you.vc
