At this point, I would want confirmation from some other program about the
presence of Webhancer.

You can: Let Microsoft Antispyware remove it--I believe it will put it in
quarantine--and then use at a command prompt:

netsh winsock reset <enter>

You may then need to reinstall any legitimate software you have which
depends on this DLL. These include some Cisco VPN clients, some McAfee
products, and others.

thanks mate saved me a lot of hassle
 
Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove programs,
and remove it from there.

Look around while you are there...you might find some
other things that you didn't know you had.
