webcam volume help

I just got a new Lyromedia webcam with built in microfone ,but i dont have any
-- volume. windows say that the device is working properly. I am running
window xp service pack 2. Can anyone help please iv been at this for 2 days
now.

what type of connection?
laptop?
have you checked in your volume control properties for a separate volume
control?

I have a dell dimension p.c . I have been in the volume control & dont see
anyother properties. I have also uninstalled the driver & reinstalled it
still no joy it's dirving me mad cos the webcam i had before i had no probs
with.
