webcam problems...

when i insall a webcam n use it i get 1 of 2 problems, either it freezes my
internet connection to the degree i cant even disconnect n have to switch the
pc off with the button on the front or it reboots the pc n tells me its
recovered from a serious error... this happens with 2 different cams so it
cant be the cam itself, when usin the webcam program i've tried selectin the
driver manually but it doesnt appear on the list n the microsoft 1 just
causes it to crash...
any help with this would be greatly appreciated thanks,

Kev, Did you ever get an answer to this - exactly the same is happening with
my Yahoo if I use a webcam. I have read on Yahoos pages of a fix in "regedit"
wgich I have tried - but to no avail

Can anyone please help
