I maintain website (FP2002) and I have noticed a folder
called Webalizer in it. I have found that it contains
usage data in graph form and found Webalizer in
google.com, etc. But what confuses me is that I don't know
how it got installed into the web in the first place. My
other website does not have it.

Guess this may be crazy posting this because how would
anyone else know? But anyone know how it could creep into
website?

Any guesses?
Thanks!

Webalizer is a server statistics program.
It is probably installed on your server.
It is "usually" found as part of Cpanel
on Apache/UNIX servers.

If your site is publicly hosted, the hosting service
probably installed it. For example, it might be a feature
of their service.

For further clues, look around the host's support pages..

Steve,

Using CPanel, can one change the .gif counter graphic to suit the webdesign? Or should I go with FP's and a custom .gif? - the default one on the server is U-G-L-Y :-)

(Real statistics are not really important to me...just an indicator of people visiting the site - beside I can always look at stats)
