At my house, I have a system that computers can connect wired/wirelessly to a
central router with inbuilt modem. Once the computers have established
connection then the brouser has full acess to the internet without the need
to create any internet connections.
If you wanted to utilise another computer's connection then you would need
to be able to share that computer's connection accross the network. From this
you should be able to detect this from the other computers. (this might
require going into Internet Explorer and typing the IP address of the web
"serving" computer).
I haven't tried this my self, but I think this is a possible way to do it.
