web publishing problem

Terry Williams

I tried to re-publish my website several days ago, and I keep getting this
error message: "vDeck - Error 500 Server error. I encountered an
unrecoverable server error. Please go back and try again."

I checked my ISP and they said it was a problem with Microsoft Extensions.
I re-installed them, but I get the same problem. It happens after the files
are listed and "Processing Web Updates" comes up. Then, I get the error. I
can't open it live. I get a server timed out error.

My ISP has wiped out my site twice, and the only way I could upload my files
was through a seperate FTP. The ISP said they have exhausted their
troubleshooting and they are going to go into the server - even though no
one else on the server is having this problem.

Have any of you had this problem? Can you help?

500 hundred errors are usually server permission errors
- the host server does not have the permissions set correctly to allow you to write a file
- the host should check the server logs for the specific details of the errors

Can you open your online web in FP and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks or a server health check from Tools Server Admin (if the
site has the FP 2002 SE)

PS
using FTP corrupts the FP SE, so have your host repair or reinstall them
