web photo album with thumbnail generation

I have a lot of images I would liked to load on to my website and categorise
them by location or date. I would like thumbnails that point to the full
size image. does anyone know of a freeware package that will help me to
achieve this? I use Dreamweaver 4.

Picasa by Google is brilliant for this....also very good for
cataloging every pic on your computer
