Hi Its mandy again. im new to excel 2007 and i have it for school. my bokk
uses 2003 and not 2007. therefor i have no clue how to do somethings. i need
to know how to use discussion comments on the web. the old feature on 2003
was tools>online collaboration>web discussions> insert discussion. can some
one tell me how to do it on 2007?

sadly i have already tried that site. it says that there is no equivalent
command and to look online for help. would u know a way other than that or
maybe a different site?

Jerry or Bernard

OP mentions "the old feature on 2003 was tools>online collaboration>web
discussions> insert discussion"

Where and when is this feature available in 2003?

What have I been missing<g>

Gord,
It was actually new to me also! I followed the path from the OP info and
what I ended up with was a new toolbar associated with web discussions
displayed in the Excel window - that's as far as I got with it. Appears at
that point you then subscribe to a discussion group with it much as you would
with a usergroup or news group reader. Interesting.

Hi Jerry

This was new to me also, but I had a slightly different take on what it
does, but I may be totally wrong here.
It seemed to me, that it was a collaborative tool, that allowed you to
publish your workbook to a server, and then have multiple people access
and comment on the work.

As far as I can tell, this as a toolbar option has been removed from
XL2007.
Maybe the option from Office button>Publish>Document Management Server
or Create Document Management Workspace is what will give the OP the
same type of functionality.

I have no access to Sharepoint Services, and I have yet to investigate
the use of Groove, to see what it offers in the way of collaborative
work.
