After I publish a powerpoint presentation online the navigation tools fail to
load at the bottom of the firefox browser. I have attempted selecting various
IE/netscape configurations, and publishing to the desktop then uploading to
the web. What are the optimal settings for powerpoint publishing to be viewed
in mozilla's firefox?

I don't know the answer, but if you right click on the white bar at the bottom
and select "This Frame" > Open Frame in New Window, you'll see the navigation.
However, the slide frame is probably unsatisfactorily small. There are probably
changes that could be made to the source code to make it compatible with all
three browsers and optimize the layout, but that is far beyond my skill level.

Looks pretty goofy in Opera too.

I started with what I think is the same generic presentation, did save as web page,
, picked HTML rather than MHT, and picked "Browser support: MSIE 3.0, NS 3.0 or
later) plus a few other options that are probably not important and ended up with a
version that looked considerably better in Firefox (still couldn't move the
dividers between slides and TOC and so on).

If animations aren't important, have a look at [plug] http://ppt2html.pptools.com
[/plug].
