Weard Windows Clock Problem

When I shut-down Windows XP Home, it's like the clock stops.

When I first boot up XP, I'll reset the clock to the
correct time and date. I'll do whatever I have to do, and
shut it down. When I next boot it up, the clock is set at
the time and date when I last shut it down.

I changed the battery on the motherboard, no difference.

Anybody have any suggestions as to what to try next?

After changing the battery, did you set date/time in BIOS? Is that
information holding okay or is it resetting with each power down/restart as
well?
