*ProteanThread* said:probably, but what really sold me is its portability. its smaller than
others mentioned in here (of course there is always sidekick), itd be
nice to find one that doubles as an app launcher.
1. Live email links in Contacts. The email addresses entered into
Contacts *look* like live mailto links, and they *look* like you could
click on them to open a composition window in your default mail client
with the contact's name in the "To:" field, but when I click on them
nothing happens. Either it doesn't work that way, or I missed something
in the setup which activates this.
You need to double-click them.
Oh, yes. Today from the later thread.*ProteanThread* said:

2. Drag and Drop an entry from Contacts into an appointment time slot in
the Calendar. This is possible with Palm Desktop (also free), and saves
a *tremendous* amount of typing.
Richard said:So, these questions:
- Does EPIM synchronize with palmtops, especially ones using the Palm OS?
- Does EPIM allow multi-level outlines, and allow them in all modes,
such as the address book. Does it allow adding outlined notes to
appointments?
- Does the limited field length in the free version's address book
impose a handicap?
You can also embed a link to a document the same way. Thus, clicking on
the document link opens its associated program.
Comments and questions:
I've been using ECCO for ten years (now abandonware from NetManage). It
was inexplicably abandoned at the Windows 95 stage, despite universal
rave reviews and a dedicated user base. I'm able to integrate it with my
pocket thing because ECCO is just barely able to synchronize with its
first-generation US Robotics Pilot integration. But ECCO is frozen in
time, and I doubt that I'll be able to synchronize it with, let's say, a
current or future Palm-softwared device. I want to move on. Essential
PIM, from your review link, seems to have been inspired by ECCO.
Oh, yes. Today from the later thread.
Aha! I thought they looked too much like links for this not to be
possible.
It would be even more perfect if you removed the annoying little advert*ProteanThread* said:well, heck, to top it off, while you're at it, add a usb smart (drive
letter smart) app launcher.
other than these 3 annoyances, EPIM is perfect.![]()
Max, I encounter a bad printout on the monthly calendar (whetherMaxim said:Richard Steinfeld wrote:

multi-level outlines possible in Notes and To-Do module.
Unless you use extremely long entries- that's not a problem. We have
not had complaints about it yet.
That's not an official feature in EssentialPIM, but there are users
doing that in Notes module. Just typing full path to the file.
EssentialPIM Pro also has "Attachment" feature for each item
(Note/Contact/To-Do), where you can store links to files and files
themselves!
EssentialPIM Pro Desktop trial is not limited in any way except 30-days
limit, so please feel free to try it. We also have got a very active
and populated forum at http://www.essentialpim.com/forum/ , where users
share ideas, suggestions and tricks.
