WD2003: Squelch format-change tracking (or at least its margin bars)

M

Mark Tangard

In Tools> Options> Tracked Changes, is there a way to tell Word NOT to
track changes that are purely format (vs. content)? Obviously the
Markup and Color dropdowns are for the in-text indicators, and *they*
can be nullified just fine; but is there no way to stop the Tracking
Goddess from showing margin-bars on text that has merely been indented,
bolded, etc.?

I don't remember this happening in prior versions. Did I dream it?

You can set the markup for formatting to "(none)," but I suspect this won't
eliminate the change bars. One way around this is to turn off Track Changes
while making such changes.
