Indeed.

Installed that Boinc thing ... it runs like treading water here for some reason. Took a massive 8hrs for 1 result and gave minimal points.
So i'm back with the windows agent. Average points but swift results which is more important so i can do more in a day

Matt - can you explain a bit more about 'minimal' points with Boinc - as it usually gives more. Remember that you have to multiply Boinc points x7 to equal WCG points.


What is the spec for your machine?



Edit: I've looked at your Boinc stats and your only score is a few days ago when you scored 66 boinc points, which equals 462 WCG points when comparing with the UD agent - but I can't see how many Boinc results contributed to that 66 - can you help with that?

Taking today for instance, you scored 419 points with 4 results using the UD agent, so as far as I can see its at least comparable.

The length of time it takes to crunch a work unit depends on what project you are crunching - some are much smaller and faster than others - 8 hours to crunch an Aids unit for instance would not be unusual depending on your PC spec.

Are you crunching all the projects available at random, or have you opted to crunch only a certain project(s)?

Hi Ady,

I wasn't complaining or anything. The points don't really matter as someone stated a few days ago, its the results themselves. The win agent gives me a quicker completion rate with all projects so thats where i'll stay.
