When installing 2000 SP4 I forgot that I have the computer automatically login as a standard user and now it freezes when it tries to open up the user, probably due to SP4 trying to install components. I can get into DOS... Any ideas??

Your post is a little unclear in some areas:

- What do you mean by "open up the user"?
- DOS? DOS is an operating system. Do you
mean the Command Prompt?
- What do you mean by "freeze"? Loss of keyboard
control? Loss of mouse control? Won't show the
desktop?

To prevent automatic logon, hold down the Shift
key while starting the PC.
