Wav to MP3

Have you tried LAME? Its an open-source MP3 encoder. But of course,
because of the patents on the file format, using LAME is at your own
risk. But as far as I know, it'll encode WAVs to MP3. I'm not sure if
there's a Windows-friendly version of it, but you can always download
the VMware Player and a Linux VM image, and be up and running in a real
OS in no time. ;-)

When it comes to program flexibity and number of available programs,
windows is 1000 light years ahead of linux.

There are more free programs for windows out there, than any distro of linux
has.
( I say free, not GPL).

Hi John!

Don't demoralize Linux User, and them, who possibly want to become one.
:)

Everybody knows of the diversity (compatibility), going with Windows,
DOS etc. It's also pretty fast (NT4 - the most effective Windows in
terms of speed, IMHO).
Well, newer CPU's are not patched anymore but everything up to i686 can
use it <fat grin>

AMD and China-produced Hardware is making one shite after the other and
the Linux community id going to knit this together <even more fat grin>

I saw Linux on a real i686 and I was surprised what we saw after setup.
And we only had a Internet-Connection and some CD-R's :-)
Mandrake, if someone is interested. My Favourite Linux distro.

Don't worry John, I don't use Linux. If NT were not so great, I would
still have an AMIGA.

Best Regards,

Daniel Mandic

I dont demoralize anyone! I am a linux fan myself.
I just know what it is, and what it is not.
I suggest everyone to try linux.

Seeing different types of OS gives a better understanding
of computers in general.

Nope. I am not a microsoft enthousiast alone. I like computers in gerenal.
I will be adding a linux section there..

I dont use IE, I use AVANT and firefox, but if you take a look at the
statistics of any site
you will see that IE still has 70-75 % of the total of users.
Most of the rest have a mozilla based broswer

I use Windows. I just happen to know and prefer Linux more. I was
un-aware of any LAME port to Windows, though I'm sure it existed.
Offense is only taken when the offendee choses too.
