can anybody out there can tell what this image is? a term that is
often used in conjuction with remote deployment of the operating
system. Is it a thing like the image produced by "nero" or something
else. how it looks like

A image is the "snapshot" taken of the computer as it was, for exampel: You have a windows 2000 Pro. and you have office and Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. You then can clone(make a image)your pc(with for exmpl: powerQuest), and then easily deploy that image to as many other computers youd like.
If your network has the need for all of the computers to have the same software, it is a good idea to make a image. I use RIS to do so.
