watermark prints every other letter.

My first time using this group. It's wonderful---no more going crazy trying

In the Watermark dialog, clear the check box for "Semitransparent."

Can you please explain the purpose of this checkbox then?
Why is it checked off by default?
 
That is a very good question but unfortunately I do not have the answer.
Perhaps one of the MVP's could weigh in on this?
 
Hi,

Does anyone know where this setting is in the registry, as I would like to
deploy the registry fix firmwide to disable the semi-transparent option.
