Can anybody explain the difference between Built in Admin and Amin.

My application behaves weirdly based on built in Admin User/ admin User.

Eg., Admin User does not have rights to create shortcut in All users folder
whereas Built in Admin has permission for the same.

In Windows Vista, the built in Admin User as you call it, the true admin is
always an admin user. The admin user that you set up yourself in the User
Accounts (the one that you can log on to from the welcome screen) is a
standard user until it need to have admin permissions, then it can press
Continue or Allow on the UAC pop up and it runs as a true administrator for
that program during that time.

You can run as a true admin, by right-clicking on what you want in the Start
menu or some program or setup file; choose Run as Administrator. Enter the
password or click Continue when the UAC pops up. And you can run the program.

Does that help?

I always get a laugh when I see the titles of these articles, written by a
so called "Industry Journalist". This information was published by other
journalists back as far as 2005, but it's still "supersecret" to them. :)
