eek is right! I've never trusted any of those "we'll clean everything for
you and it will work great!" programs..

try a repair install first ...if no joy , post back

Window Washer is a well-known program, but I have no idea what you mean
by "wash my hard drive now i cannot rebot". If you'd like some focused
troubleshooting help, please post back with a lot more details about
your computer, the problem, and what you've already done.

Have you dried it afterwards? A clothes dryer works well, or you can hang it
outside in the sunshine.

I've found that the tumbling of a clothes dryer can damage platters in the
HD. I prefer putting them in the oven. Best results are around 450 degrees
(preheated, of course) for 30 minutes*. Do NOT use the broiler as you can
scorch the writing on the top of the drive and then you'll never know where
to put the jumpers for master, slave, etc.... Oh yeah, remove the jumpers
first. Plastic melts.

*Add salt to taste.

I know several people that have washed their USB flash drives
(and run them through the dryer also) -- they got left in a pocket.
They seem to have survived !! Don't think I would do it with a
hard drive though (although I could see someone managing to
do it with either a laptop drive or a CompactFlash miniature
drive for digital cameras).
