Hi Group...

IE7 is now showing a bar at the top with the following message
in it...

Warning: possible spyware or adware infection click here etc
etc...

This then tries to get me to download a program to clear the
error.

There are instructions and a program to use to clear this - but
its all aimed at XP users not Vista..

Any help getting rid of this would be appreciated...

You have been hit with a malware infections. The infections it is reporting are ones it caused.
Run the latest versions of the Free Ad-aware (www.lavasoft.com) and Spybot
(www.safer-networking.org)

Probably just running Spybot S&D won't clean up this malware infection.
Make a note of the name of the program that is giving you the "warning"
and see if the removal instructions are here:

Bleeping Computer removal how-to's -
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum55.html

If you don't see the name of the program there, come back and post it.
