Warning: Auto-deleting files after "GIANT AS Cleaner" runs

I ran my first MS Antispyware scan on June 14. Scan
quarantined Kazaa, a file that I haven't used in years,
but still stored MP3 files there. I unquarantined the
file right after the scan. Everything worked fine that
night.

The following day, many of my MP3 files suddenly
disappeared. In the file called, "Cleaner" I found this
entry:

6/15/2005 12:29:44 PM::---------------------------------
6/15/2005 12:29:44 PM::Starting GIANT AS Cleaner
6/15/2005 12:29:44 PM::Running all Cleaner deletes
6/15/2005 12:29:44 PM::---Starting Quick Cleaner
DelFolders
6/15/2005 12:29:47 PM::Folder delete complete for
c:\program files\kazaa
6/15/2005 12:29:47 PM::Checking threats to clean
6/15/2005 12:29:47 PM::Ending GIANT AS Cleaner
6/15/2005 12:29:47 PM::-------------------------------

It appears that MS Antispyware thought it was necessary
to delete these files anyway, without asking me or
notifying me. Can't undo, can't unquarantine, can't
restore the files. A system restore only restores the old
folders, not the MP3 files. Can even find them as renamed
files anywhere.

What's the purpose of allowing me to unquarantine these
files if they are marked to be auto-deleted anyway.

too bad your log file didn't end with:

6/15/2005 12:29:48 PM::you have been reported to the RIAA

HA HA HA!
