wanting a detailed book on Data Access pages

Does anyone know of any books that have good data access page guides
included? The extensive books on Access 2003 contain info on the "Data
Access pages" but none seem to go into to much detail. They cover general
creation but do not get into the real guts of creating the pages and working
with them. There is not even a discussion group for this...

I venture to guess there is very little info on DAPs because they are
terrible. They can't even be used unless the audience has Office installed.
And they are a bear to work with.

If you need a web-based interface, I suggest using real web pages and not
DAPs.

Bill, I agree but thought maybe it was my lack of knowledge about them that
made it seem like a poorly desighned module. After a number of weeks trying
to devlop something useful, I am about to throw it away and use Frontpage.
thanks

Forgetting about them is a very good decision as they are not worth the
effort of doing anything with them; excerpt maybe for some very, very simple
tasks. I've myself throw out the towel for working with DAP many years ago.
However, if you are interested on finding good references about DAP, the
only way is to take a look at the online web site of MS:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnacc2k2/html/deploydap.asp

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;264080&Product=acc2000

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;221240

By looking at the menu at the left of the above web pages, you will find
other good articles about DAP. Finally, there is a (nearly dead) newsgroup
about them:

microsoft.public.access.dataaccess.pages

However, I remind you that after a few months of big disappointment, lot of
bugs and other frustrations, I gave up and never tried to use DAPs again.
Finally, I don't know what are your requirements but taking a look at
ASP.NET might be a good idea in your case.
