wanted: rip WAV to mp3

fruitbat

I want to convert some .WAV files to .MP3 files.

The rippers around expect the WAV files to be on a CD, but mine are in a
folder on C drive.

The authors of rippers seem to assume that the source audio is in a CD drive
and make it hard or impossible to select the WAV files elsewhere.

Any advice?

LamedropXPd V.1.3.3 (at the bottom of the page)
http://www.rarewares.org/mp3.html
encode and decode MP3 files

The zip file is 182Kb large

Drag and drop your WAV files on top the
program window and the program convert them to MP3 files

Right click on the program window to access the settings menu

What program are you using? I don't think I've ever seen one that
couldn't encode waves on the hard drive. After all, when you rip a CD
the result is a wave (either in RAM or on the HD) which is then encoded
to MP3 either as the wave is being ripped or later.

WinLAME converter works quite well, is free (and open-source), and
doesn't expire after a set period of time. Check it out at

At least one of those rippers do support converting from wav to mp3.
