i want to unistall windows media player 9 seris how do i
go about doing this

You don't unless you have a Restore Point from before you installed
it.
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore
Another option is a Repair Installation of Windows XP, all Windows
Updates are removed and need to be reinstalled.
 
Go into Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. It is
near the bottom of the list.
