Want to undo the Rule that wants me to replace direct formatting

In all the e-mails I compose I get the blue squiggle line under everything I
type indicating a formatting error-my right-click choices include: Replace
direct formatting with...., Ignore Once, Ignore Rule, etc. How do I undo the
rule?

On the Edit tab of Tools | Options, clear the check box for "Keep track of
formatting," and Word will never bother you with this at all.

Thanks. I looked that check box up in the Help system, but was still
confused as to what it actually did. Now I know!

Tools-Options-Spelling and Grammar tab. Uncheck the box "Check grammar as
you type."
