Want to see preview of pics in a folder

I am using WXP Pro at work. When I navigate to My Documents on my work PC,
one of the folders under it is called "My Pictures" - but there is no special
folder icon like the one I see on my home PC (also WXP Pro). When I open this
folder, I cannot see image "previews" of any kind. Not as film strips,
picture icons, previews in the left side bar - nothing, just regular file
details or nondescript file icons, depending on how I have view set. I'm sure
there is a way to do it because I can preview them at home. Is there anyway
to get this functionality back?

I had a slightly different problem in that My Documents turned into a Pictures folder, but I think your problem may have the same solution.

In windows explorer goto the Tools menu and select Folder Options. In the View tab click Reset all Folders. This will apply all the standard templates for the "My ..." system folders and as far as I can determine will turn all other folders views into Tiles.

To regain the thumbnail functionality, see if this command helps:

Type in Start, Run:

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
