Want to remove CTRL-F giving full screen

J

John

I'm a bit new to Excel so apologies for asking about basic things.

PROBLEM ....

When I key CTRL-F I get a full screen view.
I do not want this. I want CTRL-F to be "Find".

I run WinXP Pro and I run version Excel 2003 with SP3 (the version is
11.8169.8172.)

WHAT I HAVE TRIED ....

When I go to the Edit menu and look at the Find entry, I see it is
assigned to CTRL-F. So why is my CTRL-F not doing that?

I went to see if there was a custom keyboard shortcut which made CTRL-F
show a Full Screen but I just can't manage to navigate my way to check
this. Sorry if this is basic.

Can someone steer me to where I should be looking and what I should be
doing to get rid of Full Screen and restore Find to my CTRL-F.

It sounds like you have a macro that has stolen the shortcut.

I bet if you start excel in safe mode, you won't see the problem.

Try closing excel
windows start button|Run
excel /safe
and test it out.

If it works fine, then you have a little detective work to determine where that
macro lives.
